Bonnie Decker Hull

Born in Evanston, Illinois, Bonnie Hull was raised in the Chicago area, graduating with a B.A. from Michigan State University. Hull came west with her husband when he accepted a position at Willamette University in 1970.

While making and showing art since 1975, Hull has also been active civically:

For 13 years Hull co-owned and operated a restaurant in Salem (The Arbor Café). She researched and co-wrote (with her husband Roger Hull) the successful nomination of her neighborhood to the National Register of Historic Places, and was part of the nomination process for the Salem Downtown Historic District.

In 2007 Hull’s art work was shown at Blackfish Gallery in Portland, the River Gallery in Independence, the Newport Visual Arts Center, the Mary Lou Zeek Gallery in Salem, as well as a one person show in the Focus Gallery at the Salem Art Association’s Bush Barn Art Center.

In July of 2009, Hull’s work will be shown in a two-person show (with collage artist Eunice Parsons) at the 12x16 gallery in Portland.

Hull’s work is included in the permanent collections of the Hallie Ford Museum of Art, The Salem Public Library, and the Salem Hospital, as well as numerous private collections.
